Hello from Alabama

I was MIA from this blog. Been thinking of creating a blog where I put my items up for sale, but this one won't work as it's too personal.

I moved from Kansas to Alabama in June, about 3 months after the first blog. Had a huge 'meltdown' with my daughter-in-law, and decided to make a permanent move (?) to Alabama. Now, I don't know if this was the best decision. There is days I wish I was back in Kansas but I don't miss the hectic and chaotic life there. But miss the grandchildren and the talking sessions with Tricia. But I will be going back latter part of June to visit and have fun with the family.

Once again, my son is in Iraq, this time for a year, but he's not even sure about that since we're suppose to pullout of Iraq (hee, hee) in August, 2011 and he's scheduled to come back about March, 2011 about six months from pullout. He doesn't see the sense in the Army deploying men to pull out troops six months later - keep what they have there and use them to pull all out.

And after coming home from Iraq - he will have approx 3 yrs left of the service. He will be taking online classes with Ashford University in Criminal Justice, starting the 8th of May, hoping to complete his course for Associate Degree and get his Bach Degree by the time he exits the service. I'm looking forward to him not being deployed to these unnecessary wars.

I'm living with my sister, Ellen in Scottsboro, Alabama and retired. I spend my days working on quilts and Raggedy Dolls, and creating cards for b-days, graduation or anything else that comes up. In other words, a pretty boring day! I had a quilt order that I finished up and delivered two weeks ago, and since Scottsboro as a Art in the Park the first weekend in Sept (Labor Day) where you have a table/booth selling your crafts or painting. I sold 2 dolls last year, and will attempt to sell some dolls this year along with a couple quilts. There will be some late nights of working as I will be spending the month of July in Kansas with family and friends.

Alabama's ok -- but this area has no big malls and the closest is 43 miles away in a extremely busy part of the city. It has the UAH located there as well as the Space and Rocket Center, and the Redstone Arsenal so there is traffic galore. So I resort to online ordering (when I have the extra cash!).

Now, if you're super religious, the times are showing the return of Christ. All the tornadoes, oil spills, earthquakes and what not, and the Mayan Indians prediction of the end of the world as we know it on Dec 21, 2012 - well you can be sooooo scared. And Dec 21, 2012 is the day my car is paid off!! So on that super scary note I will close. Have a blessed day.
